Key considerations for
Houi-Tori practice

Let me explain the precautions to take regarding Houi-Tori (directional alignment). Please adhere to what is written here.

Let's go for Houi-Tori (directional alignment)!

During my training days, there were numerous occasions where I faced adverse effects due to not knowing these precautions (apparently, the old lady forgot to teach me). Despite intending for good fortune, I ended up experiencing misfortune. To ensure you don't fall into the same situation, please carefully read the following precautions.

About 30% of these precautions stem from my experiences encountering adverse effects. Please make use of this knowledge.

Precautions Regarding Houi-Tori (Directional Alignment)

Please avoid going with others for Houi-Tori (directional alignment).

Favorable directions differ for each individual. When going with others, it's also necessary to assess their favorable direction. Even if a direction is favorable for you, it could bring adverse effects if it's unfavorable for the person accompanying you. If you're going with someone, their assessment is also required. I had a woman leave me because of this. Three times...

Please avoid going near the boundaries between directions.

No matter how accurately you draw lines on the map, there will always be some errors. Going to areas close to the boundaries between directions can have unfavorable effects. Avoiding a range of ±5 degrees from the boundary line (directional line) is advisable. Due to this, I lost out to a junior colleague in matters of romance.

For information on drawing directional lines on a map, please refer to the method of determining directions.

> How to determine the directions?

In the Qi study, a month does not begin from the first.

In Feng Shui, a month typically begins between the 4th and 8th day. Be mindful of this. Additionally, within 1 to 2 days after the start of a Qi study month, lingering energies might be from the previous month. For Houi-Tori (directional alignment), performing it after the 10th day of each month is recommended.

For a February overseas trip, aim for dates after February 20th.

In Qi study, Setsubun in February serves as the New Year, marking the shift in the annual energy. Consequently, when traveling abroad, if the auspicious directions remain the same for both January and February, there's no need to be concerned. However, if the auspicious directions change between January and February, it is advisable to consider the time of energy transition and plan your trip after February 20th.

Be cautious during the transitional periods between seasons known as "Doyo 土用"

In Qi study, the transitional periods between seasons are called "Doyo 土用." Every year, during the periods of April 17th to May 10th, July 17th to August 10th, October 17th to November 10th, and January 17th to February 10th, the effects of directional alignment (Houi-Tori) or relocation are not efficiently manifested. Therefore, avoiding these periods as much as possible is advisable for better cost-effectiveness since the expenses involved remain the same.

However, it's better to go than not go at all! If adjustments can be made, it's recommended to avoid these dates.

When you plan to do Houi-Tori, suddenly things come up or your health deteriorates

We call this 'evil forces entering.' The lower your luck, the more susceptible you are to these forces. Significantly, the worst symptom is an inexplicable aversion to going, like feeling tired or bothered suddenly... You have no choice but to push through it. Push through and go in the auspicious direction, and as your luck improves, you'll find yourself having more and more things to do in the favorable directions.

During or after Houi-Tori (directional alignment), you might experience issues like headaches or stomachaches.

This is a positive reaction where accumulated negative energy is being expelled from your body, so please bear with it. It's a sign that the Houi-Tori (directional alignment) is taking effect. Even for individuals whose luck has significantly declined, these symptoms tend to disappear after about three sessions of Houi-Tori (directional alignment).

Aside from physical discomfort, there can be temporary changes in various aspects, such as relationships and emotional stability. At first glance, it might not make sense, and you might be puzzled, thinking, "I went in a favorable direction, so why is it seeming like something bad is happening?" When your luck improves from a low point, it's like the ground solidifying after rain. Just endure it for a while!

All directions except for the auspicious one are inauspicious! Don't go, even for work!

Only your girlfriend and friends might excuse it because it's work. There's no reasoning with directions. If you keep deceiving yourself with thoughts like "Maybe this much will be okay..." and letting things slide, your fortune will undoubtedly decline. It's easy to lower it, but raising it is a challenging task!

Please do not bring back soil, stones, or any materials from the location of Houi-Tori (directional alignment).

When conducting Houi-Tori in places like mountains or rivers, please avoid taking home any stones, soil, or materials found there. While there are generally positive effects, spiritual issues might occasionally arise. For the sake of caution, it's better to avoid such actions.

Occasionally, some individuals may find the effects not manifest as expected.

The effectiveness of Houi-Tori (directional alignment) varies from person to person. Occasionally, some individuals may not experience the desired effects. For instance, someone who traveled overseas in a highly unfavorable direction last month might not feel the positive effects even when conducting Houi-Tori (directional alignment) for a domestic trip this month (well, that's to be expected...). Conversely, someone who traveled in a highly auspicious direction overseas last month could likely sense positive effects even when doing Houi-Tori (directional alignment) for a day trip within the country this month. The results of Houi-Tori (directional alignment) are often influenced by the directions traveled in the past.
