How to choose the right map?

To conduct directional orientation more accurately from your home, starting with a 1:2,200,000 scale map of Japan is essential. Having a supplementary 1:500,000 scale map can provide even better precision.

This option is employed for supplemental use with the 1:2,200,000 scale map when navigating shorter distances that may be less clear on a comprehensive Japan map.

Recommended Map: Shobunsha Regional Map Series - Hokkaido, Tohoku, Kanto, Chubu, Kinki, Chugoku, Kyushu (Each map covers the entire region)

The first essential item you'll always need is this one. It covers the entire Japan, making it perfect for determining the directions for orientation. The recommended map below is quite accurate, and I also use it. Let's start by getting this one.
