Classification of auspicious directions into two types

The effectiveness of determining one's auspicious direction increases the farther one travels within the favorable direction area, and the longer one stays within that area. However, it's important to note that this doesn't necessarily apply to all auspicious directions.

Auspicious directions are further categorized into 'Highly Auspicious Directions' and 'Moderately Auspicious Directions.' Highly Auspicious Directions thrive with more distance covered and extended stays, while Moderately Auspicious Directions have various restrictions when practicing Houi-Tori. Many commercially available books fail to explicitly mention these distinctions, leading to unfortunate experiences for many individuals. First, it's essential to grasp the classification of Highly Auspicious and Moderately Auspicious Directions and the limitations associated with the latter.

Highly Auspicious Directions
(indicated by ☆ in the auspicious direction chart).

This is the ultimate auspicious direction that can be used for domestic travel but also moving and international travel and its effects are potent. It usually occurs only a few times a year, so be sure to make the most of it. If you can't go abroad, then travel as far as possible within the country. Don't miss out.

Moderately Auspicious Directions
(indicated by ○ and △ marks on the auspicious direction chart).

For short-distance travel, typically, directional selection is done within these moderately auspicious directions. However,

  • Keep within a maximum range of 500 kilometers (as the crow flies) from your home.

  • Stay for no longer than one month.

Please adhere to these limitations. Exceeding these limits (traveling more than 500 kilometers away or staying longer than two months) can have adverse effects, turning it into an inauspicious endeavor. It would be pretty unfortunate to spend money only to encounter unfavorable outcomes.

Points to Keep in Mind When Engaging in Houi-Tori within Moderately Auspicious Directions

As you can see from the restrictions above, moderately auspicious directions are not suitable for 'international travel' or 'moving.' It's important to note that many commercially available Qi study-related books incorrectly suggest that international travel and moving are feasible within moderately auspicious directions. Believing in such advice can lead to unfortunate consequences, so please exercise caution.

Furthermore, within moderately auspicious directions, there are some directions where you may only travel up to 200 kilometers during certain times (indicated as △ marks on the auspicious direction chart).

Slightly Auspicious Directions

For everyday outings, we assess auspicious and inauspicious directions within a 20-kilometer radius, but based on experimental results, the effects are relatively minor and challenging for even me to perceive. Therefore, in our practice, we generally disregard these considerations in routine situations, except for cases related to the treatment of patients.
